interpreting signs

Christopher may think this sign refers to pedestrians, vehicles, animals. he may want to know how long to give way for, pedestrians, vehicles, animals etc etc.
I would tell him: When you see this sign, you must give way for nearby vehicles when your driving, once there are no more cars near you in about a 15-20 metre radius, you may proceed with driving.

Christopher may think how far the road works are, or how severe it is. He may wonder how big the road works are, or how long its going to take. He wont know how long to stop for, or where to stop at.

I would tell Christopher: When you see this sign, you must be prepared to stop. Dont drive too fast, and be carefull of potholes and other hazerd found during a road works. Follow the instructions of the workers working on the road works.

Christopher may think, what if its not raining, or how severe should the flood be. How long is the stretch of road, or how deep is the dip. Can higher vehicles enter and what if its flooded with other stuff, rather then water.

I would tell Christopher: When it is raining, do not enter this stretch of road. You should check weather its flooded or not before proceeding.

Christopher may think, Around which area, how many crocodiles are there. how big are the crocodiles.
I would tell Christopher: When you see this sign, you must not swim. You must not go in the water. You must not go near the water.
